Batsuuri is 60 years old and lives with his wife and three children in Arkhangai province of Mongolia. He and his family live together in a ger, a traditional Mongolian nomadic tent. His youngest daughter recently graduated from college and his son will soon be getting married. His middle child, a 23 year old daughter, is handicapped and stays at home with his wife. Batsuuri sells water to the people of his town who live too far away from the town well. He owns two horses and a cart in which he makes his water deliveries. Batsuuri started this business in 2004 with only one horse. Since then, he has not only been able to purchase another horse, but he has been able to pay for his son and daughter’s college educations. He would eventually like to own a well so that he can become even more profitable. Batsuuri is requesting a 1,500,000 tugrug (~1050 USD) loan in order to purchase the hay necessary for his horses to be able to survive the winter.
